Garrett IIIwill serve as superintendent of the Louisiana Special School District, which was established by the Louisiana State Legislature to provide education to students housed in state or privatized facilities and hospitals.Garrett, the former executive director and CEO of Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation Inc., will start his new leadership post September 3.
