Tom Albertson has been picked to head up the Lake Pend Oreille School District in Idaho. He has been with the district for 32 years as an educator and administrator, most recently as the Sandpoint High School principal. In New York, Mayfield Central School District‘s board named Christopher Harper as the new superintendent. He is currently an elementary school principal with the Unadilla Valley CSD, also in the state. Harper replaces Kathy Dougherty, who has served as the district’s interim superintendent since November.Read more.
Indianapolis Public Schools Interim Superintendent Aleesia Johnson, a longtime ally of charter schools, will now officially lead the district. She was hired four years ago to oversee the district’s new innovation program, in which outside operators run campuses that are considered part of the public school system. Read more.
