Construction Watch: Colorado schools getting $401 million for state-approved projects

The Colorado State Board of Educationhas approved dozens of school construction projects totaling more than $401 million, under a grant award program. Officials said approximately $129 million of the awards from 2019 will be funded by income earned from the Colorado State Land Board, marijuana excise taxes, Colorado Lottery spillover and Capital Construction Assistance Fund interest.Read more.

Arizona’s School Facilities Board must inspect all district school buildings once every five years for building deficiencies. However, only one deficiency inspection has been conducted over the past three years for the state’s 2,001 district school buildings. Instead, the board has directed its resources to fixing schools that have requested grant funding. Read more.
