A dance at Louisville’s Brown School last month looked a little different than an average school party, but the unique circumstances only added to the fun.

About 60 students gathered inside the school’s cafeteria one Friday night in January to enjoy Brown’s first. The absence of flashing lights typical at most high school dances was one of many considerations made, along with the presence of gluten-free food and a decompression area for kids in attendance.
