Gonsoulin is the leader of Jefferson County Public Schools in Alabama and the 2025 AASA National Superintendent of the Year. He was described as a “future-driven ambassador” who has created an innovative and vibrant environment to empower students and staff. Gonsoulin, an educator for over 30 years, previously led Fairfield City Schools.
