For more than 40 years, thehas equipped education leaders with knowledge of the newest state-of-the-art technologies and best practices through the voices of those on the front lines of innovation. With more than 700 sessions planned, the January 2023 conference in New Orleans will truly inspire and motivate those whose goal is to create a school environment that models success.
Those of you who are first-time attendees may have a lot of questions and uncertainty about what to expect. Here’s what one education technology professional who has attended FETC for more than five years says are the most rewarding aspects of the conference.
Kristen Brooks, a technology specialist for the Cherokee County School District located in Georgia, experienced her first FETC back in 2016. Every year since, she says, she leaves with a full heart.
“The educators and the connections we have formed,” she says, is what draws her back to the conference every year. “FETC has the most incredibly talented speakers, and the quality of the sessions and workshops are at the highest level possible. I always leave with a full and happy heart and so much information to bring back to my district to share.”
This year’s program agenda is an indication that attendees will be able to keep themselves busy with over 800 sessions and workshops to choose from, making it one of the most diverse conferences in the industry. “I love attending sessions because I know they are all excellent and I can’t go wrong with whatever I select,” she says. “I’m a lifelong learner but I also really enjoy sharing and helping others, so I am looking forward to presenting at FETC.”

The takes place live and in person Jan. 23-26, 2023, in New Orleans.
Brooks will be hosting various sessions as part of the Future of EdTech Educator track, such as “Create Clever Cross-Device Friendly Videos with K-12 learners.” There, attendees will uncover “endless” learning possibilities for students in the classroom or remotely by giving them video creation tools to “unleash their ‘Power of a Video.'”
As an edtech professional, she says FETC plays a substantial role in the work she does each day.
“FETC is always bringing the best aspects of ed tech together in one place and under one roof,” she says. “I know that what I learn at FETC will be new, exciting and engaging for my students in my classroom. There is honestly no other conference quite like FETC. I highly recommend all educators to attend it once and see for themselves.”
