Adam Garry, Senior Director of Education Strategy at Dell Technologies, has been announced as the keynote speaker for Day 2 of the inaugural at the Hilton Chicago in October.

In his presentation Breaking Down Silos: Connecting K-12 and Higher Education Through Esports, Garry will address the growing need for school districts and colleges to better collaborate in preparing students for the future, as well as furthering esports in education. He says that although both have embraced this growing field, the two are still very siloed in terms of how they perceive esports’ role in academia.

Adam’s presentation theme is one being talked about often in K-12 districts and higher education institutions across the country, said Chris Burt, Program Chair for the Academic Esports Conference. As esports continues to flourish, how can K-12 and higher ed better connect, share ideas and break down barriers to foster opportunities for students? It will be great to hear Adam’s research and insight into how school districts and colleges can bridge these gaps and seize on the chance to enhance student development.

For the past 15 years, Garry has consulted in school districts on school transformation, professional learning, one-to-one, digital curriculum, personalized learning, needs assessment, project-based learning, curriculum and instruction, and leadership. At Dell, he helps define and execute the company’s mission for K-12 and higher education, where he leads a team of strategists across North America.
