People Watch: Leader announced for Oregon district

The Scappoose School District‘s board of directors selected Timothy L. Porter as the new superintendent. He has been superintendent for the South Umpqua School District, also in Oregon, since 2016. Read more.

In other people news:

Jared Cordon is the next superintendent for Roseburg Public Schools in Oregon. He has served the Beaverton School District, also in the state, as the administrator for elementary curriculum, instruction and assessment since 2016.Read more.

Christopher Dailey, currently the superintendent of New York’s Batavia City School District, has been named superintendent for the state’s Gates Chili School District. He replaces Superintendent Kimberle Ward, who was put on administrative leave in December, and interim Superintendent Carol Stehm. Read more.
