After a turbulent year of uncertainty and rapid changes in on-site learning, students at the Ohio State School for the Blind and the Ohio School for the Deaf are back in class full time.
Although most schools in central Ohio and beyond faced many challenges related to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the schools for the blind and deaf were unusual in their circumstances of serving an entire population of students with hearing or vision challenges.
Our students for the most part really trust in the adults, said Lou Maynus, superintendent of both schools. If were confident, theyre confident. And given our track record of not spreading (coronavirus) in our school, that speaks volumes because we are very careful and safe.
