Industry News: K-12 districts implement new business, edtech platforms, offer digital credentials

North Carolina district administrators will implement CherryRoad Technologies‘ enterprise software and management services to modernize their business platforms.

Broadband connection data collected from three Michigan district communities (Mecosta-Osceola ISD, St. Clair County RESA and Eastern Upper Peninsula ISD) will help Merit Network, Michigan State University and Measurement Lab study how gaps in home internet access affect student success in Michigan.

Austin ISD (Texas) selected Accelify to implement and maintain an internet-based software suite of eight platforms for special ed, Section 504 and related services management. The suite includes the AcceliSCHEDULE auto-scheduling tool and AccelASSIGN service resource allocation system.

Lincoln Public Schools (Rhode Island) will increase the number of students who can take Virtual High School‘s online courses to 140 next year. Online PD will be provided to Lincoln teachers.

Richland School District (Washington), a 1-to-1 take-home device school system, deployed the GoGuardian software as a service platform to secure internet usage of student devices whether devices are in or outside of a classroom.

Union Public Schools (Oklahoma) will issue digital credentials using the Learning Machine Issuing System. Recent graduates will receive diplomas anchored to the blockchain using the Blockcerts open standard for digital credentials, allowing employers to confirm graduation. The district also plans to issue blockchain-anchored high school transcripts.

Pittsburgh Public Schools will use Rethink Ed‘s Social and Emotional Learning and Special Education solutions edtech platforms to create positive and supportive school cultures. Teachers will have access to 120 SEL lessons and receive professional development training.
