Esparto’s superintendent of schools, Diego Ochoa, has given his resignation to accept a similar position in Hollister.

The announcement came Thursday in an open letter to the Esparto community posted on the School District’s web site. The Hollister Board of Education announced in late December that Ochoa was the sole candidate and formally hired him on Jan. 8.

In the letter, Ochoa states it has been his highest professional honor of my career to serve as the Superintendent of the Esparto Unified School District. I have relished the opportunity to work with educators who make a difference in the lives of students in the Esparto Unified School District.
