Alaska’s Senate Finance Committee discussed a bill that would extend a moratorium on the state reimbursing municipalities for school construction bonds until 2025. The state stopped covering part of new school bonds in 2015, and that moratorium is set to expire July 1, 2020, unless it is extended.Read more.

Four years ago, Republicans in charge of Nevada’s legislature passed a significant change to state laws requiring workers on school construction projects to be paid the prevailing wage. But Democratic lawmakers, now in charge in Carson City, are considering a repeal of that law. Read more.
Prince George’s County in Maryland is on track to become the first U.S. jurisdiction to use a public-private partnership to build and maintain several of its public schools.
