Abby Dolliver, superintendent of Norwich Public Schools, announced her intent to retire at the end of the 2018-19 academic year. She has served as superintendent since 2010, and has worked in the Norwich system for nearly 30 years.

Superintendent of Norwich Public Schools Abby Dolliver on Tuesday announced her intent to retire at the end of the 2018-2019 academic year.

It was business as usual at Tuesday night’s regular meeting of the Norwich Board of Education, but as the meeting entered executive session, rather than present her self-evaluation as scheduled, Dolliver submitted to the board a letter expressing her intent to retire.

After many discussions with my family as well as my own personal reflection, I have made one of the most difficult decisions in my career. I am notifying you of my intent to retire as of June 30, 2019, Dolliver said in her letter to the board.
