There are several leadership vacancies out there but the latest round of superintendents on the move shows more retirements than new hires.

Harrisburg School District is among the districts that picked a new leader in recent weeks. , now the regional assistant superintendent of Polk County Schools in Florida, takes the helm of the Pennsylvania district on Nov. 1.
Three districts in Michigan have selected new superintendents in recent weeks. , former superintendent of Almont Community Schools, was named the next leader of Lapeer County Intermediate School District. He replaces Steve Zott, who retired last month, The County Pressreported.
The Public Schools of Calumet, Laurium & Keweenaw chose as its next superintendent, according to WJMN. Asiala has been a principal in nearby districts. High school principal is the new superintendent at Clare Public Schools, theMorning Sunreported.
Superintendents on the move: Retirements
The following superintendents have announced their plans to retire:
- retired from Huntington ISD (Texas) in August.
- is retiring from Fairborn City Schools (Ohio) in December.
- will retire from the Fort Zumwalt School District (Missouri) at the end of the school year.
- will retire from the School District of Haverford Township (Pennsylvania) at the end of the school year.
- is retiring from the Hampton County School District (South Carolina) in December.
